Audio Harbor is a local music player. It is built to play files you already have, on devices you already own.

What we do not collect

What stays on your device

Folder bookmarks, the catalogue index, playlists, output settings, and plugin state are stored on the Mac you use. The audio files remain in the folders you connect. We do not host them.

iPhone and iPad remote and your local network

Audio Harbor on iPhone and iPad is a remote for Audio Harbor on your Mac. It plays nothing itself and keeps no copy of your music.

When you turn on Allow Remote Control on the Mac, the Mac announces itself on your local network (Bonjour). The iPhone or iPad connects to it directly — there is no Gerov server in between, and nothing is sent over the internet. You pair the two once with a six-digit code shown on the Mac; after that each side keeps a pairing key, on the device itself, so the phone reconnects without the code. You can revoke a paired phone on the Mac at any time.

Over that connection the Mac sends what the remote shows: track titles, artists, albums, cover art, the queue, folder and playlist names, search results, the output volume, and (when both sides support it) the Mac’s Settings state for Output, Sharing, and directories — shown in the remote’s Settings tab. The iPhone or iPad sends commands such as play, skip, search, volume, and Settings changes you make on the remote, and its device name so you can recognise it on the Mac. The connection stays on your local network and is not encrypted, so only turn on Allow Remote Control on networks you trust.

Network players and library sharing

On the Mac you can play to a UPnP / DLNA player on your home network, or turn on Share Library on the Network so a DLNA app on another device can browse and play your catalogue. In both cases the Mac only talks to devices on that local network: discovery (SSDP), control messages, and the audio files the player fetches over HTTP. Nothing is sent to Gerov or over the internet. Anyone on the same network can see a shared library while sharing is on — DLNA has no sign-in — so turn sharing on at home only.

Your purchase

Audio Harbor is free to install and fully usable for seven days. After that, playback needs a one-time in-app purchase. Apple handles the whole transaction: we never see your card, your name, or your billing address. The receipt lives with Apple and your Apple Account, so Restore Purchases works on any Mac you sign in to. The unlock is the same on Mac, iPhone, and iPad; buying it on any of them unlocks playback on your Mac for that Apple Account. We keep no customer record, no order history, and no server of our own that a purchase could be written to.

The only thing the app stores about the trial is the date you first opened it, kept in the Keychain on that device so the count is honest across a reinstall.

Permissions

On the Mac, the app asks for access to folders you choose and for audio playback; with Allow Remote Control on, it also listens on the local network. On iPhone and iPad, it asks for local network access so it can find your Mac. Neither permission reaches a Gerov server.
